Racquetball Club
The Racquetball Club currently meets MWF at 9:30 a.m. at Rocky Top, a local sports center on Allied Blvd. (around the corner from C’Ville Coffee). Players have use of the courts (two), locker room (with showers and lockers), and weight room. Cost is $3.50 per day for single visits, or $25 per month for unlimited visits, which is a very reasonable rate. Long term members have paid a once only $25 fee for a key code which allows us to use the facility during closed hours, such as 9:30 a.m.
We play singles, doubles and cut-throat as the numbers dictate. New players, including those who have never played before, are encouraged to join us. Our abilities and fitness levels vary considerably, but we all agree that it’s a great workout.

Friday Line Dancing
Love to dance? Don’t have a partner? If you want to have fun and exercise, both physically and mentally, then line dancing is for you. This group cares more about having fun than the accuracy of steps. The first 30 minutes focus on beginner-level dances, but all levels are welcome the entire time.

Martha Jefferson 8K Run & 4K Walk
Each year the proceeds benefit an area of need at the Hospital. This year the beneficiary will be the Martha Jefferson Community Services Outreach programs that promote wellness and a healthy lifestyle, such as First Saturday's Blood Pressure Checks, Supermarket Smarts Classes, Diabetes Education Programs and Health Screenings for adults and school age children ... just to name a few.

Arthritis Foundation Land Exercise
Exercise is important for joint motion and muscle strength. This entry-level class follows the Arthritis Foundation Program and helps those with arthritis to get moving again. Chairs are used for balance. Prior approval from your doctor is required so ask for the formfrom the Senior Center.

Charlottesville Contra Dance
What is contra dancing? Click here for more information. Dances are held at either the Charlottesville Municipal Center OR the Greenwood Community Center. Check the schedule for location.
Dances are held on the first and third Friday nights of each month with a beginners workshop held just before the dance begins.
IMPORTANT: The soles of all shoes must be cleaned of all dirt, soft, non-marking, and free of exposed nails or any other feature which could damage the floor or its finish.

Buford 5k Walk/Run and Health Fair
Participate in the 5K Walk/Run at Buford Middle School and attend the free health fair. There will be a variety of information booths from different agencies in the community for people to check out.

First Saturday Bird Walks
On the first Saturday of each month, the Monticello Bird Club hosts a bird walk at Ivy Creek Natural area. Walk the trails and learn about the birds found in the area.

Crabtree Falls Hike
Join us for a hike at Crabtree Falls in Nelson County. This gorgeous series of waterfalls is the largest east of the Mississippi dropping more than 1200 feet. The 2.2 mile loop trail is not difficult in terms of obstacles but is bound to get your heart rate up. Most young children have no trouble with this hike and families will enjoy the spectacular overview of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Provide your own packed lunch and water and don't forget to dress for unpredictable weather. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. The van leaves shortly after 10 AM.
